Whether you are interested in learning how to play a new instrument or perfecting your skills on one that you currently play, we have the perfect instructor and curriculum for you!  Our talented instructors are dedicated to helping every music student meet their musical goals - whether it's learning to play simple melodies as a fun hobby, developing a high-level understanding of music theory, preparing for a college music department audition, or performing in a professional band.  We teach all styles and genres of music and help students to achieve that "lightbulb moment" that they all wish for!

To reserve a time slot for your FREE TRIAL LESSON with one of our talented instructors, please complete the form on the Contact Us page of our website or call us at 980-819-6998!

Tuition is calculated, based on a 30-minute private lesson once a week ($36) multiplied by the number of weeks in a semester (January 1st-June 30th or July 1st-December 31st) and can be paid in full or broken into 6 equal automatic monthly installments, for your convenience.  Automatic draft is made on the first day of the month - debit or credit card only.  (A 30-day written notice is required to discontinue lessons and monthly tuition draft.)

We offer a 10% discount on private lessons to siblings, YMCA members, Ballantyne Corporate Park cardholders, as well as for multiple or extended sessions (45- and 60-minute lessons).  Discounts cannot be combined and are not offered on Yamaha Music Classes, Jam Sessions, or Camps.

A $25 "new family membership fee" will be due at the time of enrollment (added to first monthly payment).

Here at Ballantyne School of Music, we are continuously looking for ways to keep your family members engaged in their music lessons.  Instruction should be not only educational... but FUN!  We offer skill-building camps and clinics, to enhance your learning experience.  Ask about our special discounts for YMCA and Ballantyne Corporate Park members!

Connie Cooper
Owner/Managing Director

Connie is a native of the Baltimore/Philly area and a business graduate of the

University of Massachusetts Amherst.  She spent most of her career working for a

national bank in a variety of capacities such as customer service, quality assurance,

sales/marketing and relationship management.

Connie was enrolled in keyboard lessons at a very young age, began playing the guitar

while in college, and has performed in several bands throughout the years.  She is also

the director of Chick Singer Night Charlotte - an organization

which was established to provide female singers with an

opportunity to showcase their talent by fronting a professional

house band and performing at popular local venues such as

Amos' Southend and Visulite Theater.

Connie's passion for providing quality, affordable, and, most important,  FUN music instruction to the families of Charlotte is what lead her to a career at Ballantyne School of Music in early 2010.  She recognizes that it's important to every parent to keep their child interested and engaged in their music lessons.  Her focus is to always see things from the students' and parents' perspectives and continue to add value to all of their music programs.
