Whether you are interested in learning how to play a new instrument or perfecting your skills on one that you currently play, we have the perfect instructor and curriculum for you! Our talented instructors are dedicated to helping every music student meet their musical goals - whether it's learning to play simple melodies as a fun hobby, developing a high-level understanding of music theory, preparing for a college music department audition, or performing in a professional band. We teach all styles and genres of music and help students to achieve that "lightbulb moment" that they all wish for!
Private lessons are available for students ages 6 and older. We will be offering a Basics of Piano 4-week group class July 10th-31st, 1:00-1:45pm, at our Indian Land location for parent and children ages 3-5. And, of course, we offer Kindermusik classes for newborn to 36 months!

We offer 30- and 60-minute lessons, although 30-minute lessons once a week are recommended for beginners. Please review Ballantyne School of Music policies at the time of enrollment for monthly tuition calculation. Automatic draft is made on the first day of the month - debit or credit card only. (A 30-day written notice is required to discontinue lessons and monthly tuition draft.)
We offer a 10% discount on private lessons to siblings, YMCA members, Ballantyne Corporate Park cardholders, and Military families, as well as for multiple or extended sessions. We also offer a 15% Senior discount for students 65 and older. (Discounts cannot be combined and are not offered on Jam Session or Camps.)

Connie was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and earned her Bachelors degree in
Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She
spent most of her career working for a national bank in a variety of capacities such
as customer service, quality assurance, sales/marketing and relationship
Connie was enrolled in keyboard lessons at a very young age, began playing the
guitar while in college, and has performed as a vocalist, keyboard, guitar and bass player in several bands throughout the years.
"I believe that learning how to rehearse and perform in front of a live audience is essential to every student's musical - and personal - development!" Connie is also the director of Chick Singer Night Charlotte - an organization which was established to provide female singers with an opportunity to showcase their talent by fronting a professional house band and performing at popular local venues such as Amos' Southend and Visulite Theater.
Connie's passion for providing quality, affordable, and, most important, FUN music instruction to the families of Charlotte and Indian Land, SC, is what lead her to a career at Ballantyne School of Music in early 2013. She has been a parent of three young students and recognizes that it's important to every parent to keep their child interested and engaged in their music lessons. Her focus is to always see things from the students' and parents' perspectives and continue to add value to all of their music programs.

According to her mother, Mikayla could sing before she could talk. Native to Union County,
Mikayla pursued her musical interest by taking guitar and vocal lessons through a family
friend. At age fourteen, she decided to continue her studies more seriously and enrolled in
lessons with Madison Stegall and Danielle Smith Pollman. She participated in student bands
until she acquired the position of Administrative Assistant at Ballantyne School of Music in
In addition to fulfilling her responsibilities at the school, Mikayla is currently a guitarist and
lead vocalist for an event band, FM Encore, along with Charlotte musicians; Cole Millward,
James Nelson, and Garrick White. She is also working to complete a bachelor’s degree in English/Literature at Queens University of Charlotte with hopes of establishing a career as an author and editor in the near future while continuing her passion for music.
