Mikayla Marlow

Ballantyne Studio Manager

According to her mother, Mikayla could sing before she could talk. Native to Union County,

Mikayla pursued her musical interest by taking guitar and vocal lessons through a family

friend. At age fourteen, she decided to continue her studies more seriously and enrolled in

lessons with Madison Stegall and Danielle Smith Pollman. She participated in student bands

until she acquired the position of Administrative Assistant at Ballantyne School of Music in

2015.

In addition to fulfilling her responsibilities at the school, Mikayla is currently a guitarist and

lead vocalist for an event band, FM Encore, along with Charlotte musicians; Cole Millward,

James Nelson, and Garrick White. She is also  working to complete a bachelor’s degree in English/Literature at Queens University of Charlotte with hopes of establishing a career as an author and editor in the near future while continuing her passion for music.

Connie Cooper
Owner/Director - Ballantyne & Indian Land Studios

Connie was born in Wilmington, Delaware, and earned her Bachelors degree in

Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  She

spent most of her career working for a national bank in a variety of capacities such

as customer service, quality assurance, sales/marketing and relationship

management.

Connie was enrolled in keyboard lessons at a very young age, began playing the

guitar while in college, and has performed as a vocalist, keyboard, guitar and bass player in several bands throughout the years.

"I believe that learning how to rehearse and perform in front of a live audience is essential to every student's musical - and personal - development!"  Connie is also the director of Chick Singer Night Charlotte - an organization which was established to provide female singers with an opportunity to showcase their talent by fronting a professional house band and performing at popular local venues such as Amos' Southend and Visulite Theater.

Connie's passion for providing quality, affordable, and, most important, FUN music instruction to the families of Charlotte and Indian Land, SC, is what lead her to a career at Ballantyne School of Music in early 2013.  She has been a parent of three young students and recognizes that it's important to every parent to keep their child interested and engaged in their music lessons.  Her focus is to always see things from the students' and parents' perspectives and continue to add value to all of their music programs.
