So blessed to have had some of Contemporary Jazz's BEST visit our studio over the years! Keiko Matsui and Paul Brown have made appearances at Ballantyne School of Music, and some have even jammed with our instructors and students!! It's so wonderful when professional musicians take time out of their busy schedules to share with our students!
On October 23, 2013, we had the opportunity to host the John Lennon Bus at the Morrison Family YMCA! What a great day! Dozens of Charlotte families got the chance to meet the JLB crew, tour the mobile studio, play their musical equipment, and see some of the great videos that have been recorded on this one-of-a-kind music studio on wheels!
For more information and tour dates/locations, be sure to visit lennonbus.org.
We can't believe that we are approaching our fifth anniversary at our Ballantyne School of Music South location in Indian Land, South Carolina! We're so excited to have two locations and be able to bring quality music instruction to families in both North and South Carolina, both in-person and, now, virtually!!! It's great to hear so many families tell us that they're happy to finally find "music lessons near me"!
The health and well-being of our BSM Family is very important to us. Therefore, the following steps are being taken to ensure that our students will be able to continue to have to in-person lessons. (Please note that Zoom virtual lessons are still available in the event of bad weather, when transportation to a lesson is not possible, or when a student is not healthy enough to come to an in-person lesson.)
* All students must wash hands for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer before entering a classroom for their music lesson.
* Highly-touched surfaces such as keyboards and door handles will be wiped down with disinfectant between each lesson.
* The wearing of masks is no longer mandatory at either of our music studios, but if you request that an instructor wear one for our student's lesson they will be happy to accommodate your request.
* Families are being asked not to wait in our lobbies if they have been feeling unwell or have another child with them who was home from school sick.
We were honored to have Victor Wooten at our studio for a private clinic. Our students and local musician friends were thrilled to have the opportunity to meet him face to face and learn some new techniques.
We are featured in the Spring issue of Ballantyne Magazine!!
Happy 10th Anniversary, Ballantyne School of Music!
